blog #16

for my 4th essay I think I'm going to write about photographs, and why we choose to take pictures of certain things and leave out others. The story behind the pictures is also important. You can show someone a photograph of that one moment, but having been there, you (and whoever else was there) know exactly what was going on at that time-- what the context of the photo was. I think I'm going to try to work on that.

I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to do it yet, but that's where I am at this point....

I really like your concept. I was just wondering if you were talking about a particular photo or about photographs in general? I think if you were discussing a photo that was significant to you or possibly one you took, you could really write a great essay because you have great ideas.

hey, are you going to write about one particular picture. or are you going to write many picture and go into detail about why we take pictures overall. but anyways its a good topic because a picture is worth a thousand words. i really think writing about one will help you focus more and you can get really specific with datails and emotions about that picture.

That is an intriguing concept and I like it. Now how could you chop into that and make it interesting? Maybe write about a particular scene which you have pictures of the the memory of the non-pictures?

You bring up an excellent point in your theory about photographs. Photographs are really nothing more than a selective memory. Its a good memory whose existence is contingent on whether or not you want it to exist, whether or not you want it to be remembered. A picture is worth a thousand words, but is it really worth alot more words, or did you simply impose a limit? .....hmmmm
